Happy New Year

I rang in the New Year snuggled under the covers. I just can’t get psyched to stay up until midnight — I barely make it to 10 p.m. most nights.

Plus, the New Year is really just more of a blessed end to the holiday season and a chance to get back to a normal schedule. The ice storm and the holidays really disrupted my routine this year. I am oh so glad to be back to my regular boring schedule.

Plus, I don’t do New Year’s resolutions. If I want to do something or change something or try something, I just do it when I want. Why wait until a new year begins? If you really want to do something, just do it (sorry, that does sound like a Nike commercial).

Plus, the Chinese New Year is not until February 7 and the Islamic New Year is on January 10. And for the Eastern Orthodox Church (following the Julian Calendar) the New Year is on January 14. So many new years and yet, honestly, it’s all the same to me…
